Job description
- Collaborate with hospital and physician organization leaders to envision, develop, and implement the organization's quality and patient safety plan;
- Oversee the direct operations of the QA department and its staff and budget;
- Organize and staff the hospital and board quality committees and key strategic Quality Improvement initiatives;
- Facilitate alignment between quality assurance initiatives and the organization's strategic plan; direct the day-to-day execution of the QA strategies and tactics necessary to successfully improve the outcomes and results of the hospital;
- Responsible for maintaining the facilities system-wide Quality assurance program; to include data collection, aggregating and analyzing data, maintaining policies and procedures and reporting to administrators, Medical Staff and the Board;
- Work closely with Clinical and Non-Clinical teams for QA improvement on key performance indicators, designs processes for new initiatives, services and other targets identified by CEO;
- Participate in own appraisal annually, with regular review, agreeing to a personal development plan;
- Provide or facilitate orientation programs for all new employees and contracted staff. Conduct a separate annual educational program to focus awareness of HP hospital quaIity assurance matrix and current program with activities;
- Provide other in-service and training programs to identify through the ongoing monitoring, tracking and trending of events and/or as requested by a staff member within the organization;
- Supervise the investigate customer complaints and provide a timely response in accordance with defined procedures;
- Carry out any other duties as appropriate to the post and delegated by Chief Executive Officer.
Job Requirement
1. Education/qualifications
- First Medical/Nursing Degree;
- Master degrees in Public health or other health-related fields;
- Experience and competence in, e.g. Word processing packages, spreadsheets, presentation packages
2. Experience
- 0-12 years progressively responsible experience in Hospital/Laboratory Quality Control management;
- 4-5 years senior-level experience to include budgeting, staffing and supervision of personnel;
- Knowledge or experience of incident management in any healthcare setting;
- Training and excellent presentation experience;
3. Skills/abilities/knowledge
- Sound knowledge of clinical audit and clinical effectiveness;
- Understand of how clinical audit and effectiveness contributes to clinical governance;
- Planning and organizational abilities: highly motivated self-starter, ability to prioritize workload and work flexibly, ability to meet deadlines with tight timescales;
- Interpersonal /Communication Skills: ability to relate well both verbally and in writing with staff at all levels in the organization; ability to work effectively within different teams; abiIity to give clear oral presentations and training in both groups and individually; abiIity to write clear reports appropriate to requirements;
- Able to influence others;
- Excellent written communication skills in English;
- Able to work on own initiative;
- Resilient and able to maintain personal effectiveness and work well under pressure;
- Integrity: Able to process sensitive information whilst maintaining confidentiality.
